Never Give Up

Working from home is not for the faint of heart. You will have lots of ups and downs and have to be ready for it.

It doesn't matter if you have a work at home job or an at home business. Either one will have it's challenges.

If you have children, you need to figure out how to spend quality time with them while trying to work. I find it best to have them "work" with you. Give them their own desk, stamper, paper, pens, stapler if they are old enough...whatever they need to feel they are at work with you. The older they are the more they can actually help out.

When things don't go well...this is NOT the time to throw in the towel. I have heard stories of folks telling me how thier business is not working and so they quit. I ask how long they have been at it. I'm shocked to hear 1 week, one month or even one year. It can take years. Yes, years... to get to where you want to be. Some years might be good and some not so good. So you have to be ready to go with the flow.

You must be PASSIONATE about what you do or you wont' stick with it. What do you LOVE to do? Find what that is and work around it. Do you like to help others? Find a business or job that has fundraising involved. Do you like arts/crafts? Then do something in this field. If you hate make-up..then DON'T sell make-up. If you HATE to cook then don't sell pots/pans.

When you do find something you LOVE to do and you decide on your busines or job don't treat it as a hobby. It may feel like a hobby because you love it so much, but you are in it to make money, so treat it as a business. If you don't, you will not make the money you want or need.

If something is not working for you find another way to increase business or sales. Keep trying different things until you find what what works for you. If you can find a support group for folks who work from home I highly suggest this. This way you can throw ideas off of each other. Keep in mind though, what works for one person may not work for you...so don't give up. Stick with it and you'll succeed.
